Licensing of the German Sporthorse

The gates of the Graf- von- Lindenau- Arena are opening once again from 15th till 17th of November to become the appropriate catwalk for young, hopeful stallions and successful athletes. In total, 58 highly talented stallions from approved and international bloodlines are posing for the desired positive licensing. The 26 dressage aspirants captivate with sires like Belissimo M, De Kooning, For Romance, Quaterback, Floriscount and Governor. The jumping stallion candidates are no less exciting: sires like Quickly de Kreisker, Zirocco Blue, Verdi, For Pleasure, Kannan or Quiwi Dream can be found in the pedigrees.

But the aspirants are by no means only interesting as potential sires. The past has shown that some international sport carriers have started right here in the spotlight of the Graf- von- Lindenau- Arena. So is the winner of the dressage stallions from the licensing of 2011, DSP Belantis, trotting under THE dressage rider Isabell Werth and the 2008 licensed stallion Chacito enjoys a real jet set life under his Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe De Azevedo Filho in international competitions over 1,60m.

Also younger generations caught the spotlight Germany-wide in competitions and performance tests. Sole three stallions from the licensing in 2016 won their performance test in their discipline like DSP Don Royal, DSP Meridian or won the whole performance test like Chapeau Ciaco.

To emphasize the recipe for success, the combination of sport and breeding, five show jumping competitions up to 1,45m will also take place during the licensing, including two finals on Saturday; one is only for officially registered breeding stallions.

But the sport and the announcement of the licensing results are not the only highlights of Saturday; the awarding of the horse of the year 2018 from the equine journal „Reiten und Zucht”, a reader voting whose winner was DSP Alice herself last year, and the honoring of well-deserved breeders will make a seamless transition into the following auction. There will be the chance to secure some of the most talented licensed and unlicensed stallions for the own stable.
